Speaking of Poop

Check out Waiter Rant's post for today.

Priceless.

I'm going out to my dad's for the evening, gotta pick up Mina, and hopefully my sister will be there too. at least I'll get to see her for a few hours.

Bye.

Poop.

Today was just poopy.
I spent the whole day just wanting to go back to bed. It was one of those days when I should never have left my house at all.
But I had to work, so I got up, got dressed, and spent the day yearning for my bed and squeezing by giving far less than my best. Luckily my donors were very understanding.
Ricardo even asked how things were going with me and Mags. He told me that if Mags didn't call me within a week I should ditch him. What a flirt.
Since he called tonight I guess I don't have to ditch him yet. But watch yourself Mags, Ricardo's been after me for months. ;)

Anyway, when I got home I had some dinner (made by Neva, cuz she's just that damned cool), and laid down for a nap. At 9, bonnie woke me up to go smoke with her and I haven't been able to get back to sleep since. I'm hoping tomorrow goes better, I'm gonna try to make time to pick up some caffeine in the morning, so I'll be a bit more lively.

Regarding Shaun: Shaun of the Dead rocks my world, Neva couldn't come watch it with me, but Bonnie did. She wasn't as impressed as she should have been though. But I did make her watch the extras too. Especially the PG rated rapper scene.

Early Release

It was so slow at work today that they sent me home early. Yay. I like early release days.

I've been tinkering with a computer that my dad picked up at a garage sale for $45.00. It's in great shape actually, but I ordered an ethernet card for it so that I can set it up for networking and throw belarc on it, that way I don't have to fish around in it's guts to find out what kind of hardware is in it. I have to remember to thank Mags for showing me Belarc, it has made my life so much easier.
Meanwhile...
I'm kinda pissed because I left my crocheting project at my dad's this weekend and I had planned on spending my free time this week working on it, but instead I think I'll just stare at the walls for a while.
I also have to thank Mags for the speaker jack thingy cuz now I can throw together playlists on my computer and listen to them through my much better quality speakers on the DVD player instead of the crappy ones that are for the comp.

Thanks, Mags.

Hmm, now I gotta figure out what I'm gonna have for dinner since I'm home early and there's no one else to cook for. Should I bother cooking? I can't afford to eat out. Maybe I should just nuke something? Or maybe Neva or Bonnie will make me dinner?

I need to think about this for a while.

Tagged again.

CoffeeHouser has been at it again. I have been tagged with sharing five things from several different categories. So here goes...

10 years ago: I was sixteen and had plans to become a veterinarian, I hadn't ever had a boyfriend, I was still a virgin. I blushed when someone said condom and had never had alcohol or smoked pot in my life. I was adamant that I would never smoke cigarettes because they were gross. I had a huge crush on Logan. (Within another six months almost all of this would change, except for the cigarettes which I started at 18, and Logan who I still have a huge crush on).

5 years ago: At 21, I had a 2-year-old daughter, was in community college, and hung out with almost all the same people that I do now. I was living with my parents out of necessity, but spent most of my days and nights in town to save gas. Now the only thing that made me blush was alcohol, and tequila was my favorite. Thank god I've grown out of that. I believe this may have also been the year that I decided to go down to Ashland to live with my sister for the summer, despite the fact that Nic and I were together at the time. I think I needed an excuse to escape him for a while, but in the end it didn't work out and i only stayed with her for a few weeks. Long enough to make me miss him, and long enough for him to cheat on me with Antigone. But that's a whole different story.

1 year ago: I was 25, I lived here, I was dating Nic again. I took an entire year of Spanish in one summer so that I could get it done since it was one of the few things I still needed to complete for my degree. Since my classes were in the mornings I spent most of the rest of the day laying in the sun, and barbecuing with my neighbors. And since I was in classes I didn't have to work that summer, so I had a lot of free time.

Yesterday: Yesterday I got started on this post after returning home from a night at Des's. I was sad because Mags hadn't come down this weekend. I was bored and missing him when I went to see Des, and yesterday I got home started to post, got Mina packed for going to Grampa's house, and went to pick up Jackie (my stepmom) at the bus station. We picked her up, did a little grocery shopping, and drove out to dad's. My nephew Taijha was there and Mina and I stayed the night. This morning I slept in and woke up to bacon cooking, did a little gardening at their place, had some cake to celebrate dad's birthday, and headed home. Since then I have been writing this (except a brief break to go have dinner with Bonnie).

Five snacks I enjoy: 1) Jalapeno Poppers, I thought I would hate them when they were first offered to me, but they have become an addiction instead. 2) Tim's Cascade style Dill Pickle Flavored Potato Chips yummy, they're like salt and vinegar but with less salt and dill instead. 3) Hershey's Kisses with Almonds, I like my chocolate with nuts. 4) Dry salami, sometimes I just sit and east it right out of the package, also bacon. When my neighbors cook bacon I tax them a piece cuz i can smell it and can't resist. 5) And last but certainly not least... Bread. I'll munch on french bread, sourdough bread, homemade bread of any kind, I LOVE bread. Carbaholic much? Yes, and proud of it.

Five songs I know all the words to: 1) This my shock some of you, but I know all the words to all the songs from Les Miserables. I was a dressed in black depressed teen choir student, and Les Mis really stuck with me. 2) Ireland by Garth Brooks, the coolest song ever. 3) Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones (I dated a goth who thought he was Mick Jagger for a long time), I also learned all the words to O'Malley's Bar by Nick Cave from him. 4) Everything from Moulin Rouge. 5) And this one I hate to admit to, but I know all the words to Since You Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson. Gak. It shames me to admit it, but they're on the radio all the time, how could i avoid knowing the lyrics by now?

Five things I would do with $100 Million: 1) Bulldoze my Dad's house to the ground and rebuild it exactly the same but with insulation and central heating, plus bigger windows. 2) There is a hill out by my dad's place with a flat top that you can see from miles away, I would build a castle on that hill, buy all the land nearby and set up a year round SCA friendly space, in which everything would be period. I could have wars, markets, feasts, and I would be master of all I surveyed. MWAHAHA! 3) I would buy brand new top of the line computers for all of my friends and family who are constantly begging for help with their junky POS machines. 4) I'd take a long and well-deserved vacation to somewhere beautiful, just me (okay, and maybe Mags too, but only if he can behave himself). 5) I'd pay for college for Mina, Josh, Natalli, Derek, Kiesha, and Orion. And if they grew up not to be into the college thing, then they could use that money to buy a home or start a business instead, but at least they'd each get a good head start in life.

Five places I would run away to: 1) Bali, I've always wanted to go there. 2) Italy, yes, wine, pasta, and the descendants of Roman gods. My kinda place. 3) Costa Rica. Property values are at an all time low and I could live for years off of one year's wages up here. 4) The British Isles, so I can get in touch with my roots. 5) Aurora, Oregon. well, it's a lot more likely than any of the other places, at least I can achieve running away to Aurora for another weekend at some point.

Five things I would never wear: 1) Butt-Floss. Yuck. 2) Stilettos. I wouldn't mind wearing them, but let's face it I'd just end up breaking a leg or something. 3) Anything neon, I just don't like to call that much attention to myself. 4) Fake nails. My nails are pretty sturdy on their own and I just can't see spending that much money to cover them with something that'll destroy my already nice nails. 5) Mumus. I'd rather die.

Five favorite TV shows: Not in order of preference. 1) Ranma 1/2 (you all ought to have known this one). 2) Dead Like Me, some of the best morbid humor ever. 3) The X-Files. Mmmmm, Mulder. 4)Mythbusters, what can I say, I have a thing for bald guys who're a bit geeky, plus I love knowing weird trivia. 5) Aqua Teen Hunger Force, I blame this one on des cuz if she hadn't forced me into watching it the first time I never would've gotten addicted.

Five biggest joys: 1) Mina. She's the coolest kid sometimes, and the rest of my family should probably go here too. 2) Making stuff, from baking to knitting to computers to home repairs, I love to create things. I cannot express how much I enjoy making something from nothing, and how great I feel about myself when I can accomplish a task. Coming from a long line of procrastinating packrats I am always amazed when i accomplish something rather than just buying all the stuff for it and then never finishing the project. 3) This one I stole from BlogZilla/CoffeeHouser but it suits me as well: belly laughter. 4) My friends, all of them. Even Jesse. because when life is just too much of a burden to bear i know I can lean on them and they'll help me get through it. 5) One weekend a year spent drunk and carousing with people I barely know, and having a chance to avoid thinking about everything I have to do when the weekend ends. The SCA.

Five favorite toys: 1) My computer. 2) My car, I love to drive, I hate traffic, but I love driving. 3) Puzzles, I'm one of those people who loves to do puzzles for days at a time. 4) The Internet (this is entirely separate from my computer). 5) Books, I'm a reader and always will be. I've never enjoyed playing with toys as much as reading books.

Five people I tag to do this: I will tag Des because she asked me to. Tammi because if she ever has time to do it we may find ourselves enlightened. Chance because he's been visiting all of us recently and it's time we found out more about him. Mags, just because. And last but not least my sister, Angie, who is way behind the times and needs to build a blog. NOW. So this is a good excuse for it. (You never know, this could work)

Finally I'm done, now I am going to read everyone else's posts, take a bath, read a book, and go to sleep. At least that's what i'm hoping.

The Firing Squad

So the last two days I have been moping around praying for my managers to just up and fire me so that I have a good reason to get the hell out of there.

Today I got the surprise of the year.

They offered me a promotion instead.

What. The. Fuck.

Madonna wants me to be a second Quality Supervisor, not just a backup.
That means salary.
Like, roughly $27,000 a year salary.

Again, What The Fuck?
How did this happen? Where was I? Why didn't they just fire me?

Now I have to stick it out for a while and see what happens. If nothing else I'll get trained and pay off some debts with that money. Maybe then they'll fire me and I can go do something normal and un-plasma related.

For the meantime, at least I know I'm doing a good job.

8/23/2005

Have I mentioned that I hate my job?

The managers from hell are at it again.
They are skipping breaks.

I need to find something else soon, my bank account is overdrawn, and at 8 bucks an hour I'm working my butt off only to find myself further in the hole after every paycheck.
Something's gotta give here, I can't keep this up.
If I had the energy after working I'd go and look for something else, but other stuff keeps coming up, and I find I have no free time left.
Maybe I should start small... like updating my resume, before jsut jumping back into looking for a job.
baby steps to work.

I keep finding myself humming "We gotta get outta this place, if it's the last thing we ever do.." while I'm working.

Anyway, enough about work.

My sister will be coming up to visit next week, I'm not sure when, and I'm not sure if I'm even going to get to see her, since I'll be working the whole time, but she will be coming up.

And last but not least, his dad's dog Gale. It is gale right?

His mom's dog, Itty Bitty

this is his kitty, Panther.

Nightie Night

Okay, I posted.
I'm done now.
Gonna grab a shower and get to bed.
Bye.

Not Really a Whiner

Work sucks.
I try not to give off the impression of being a whiner (except with my closest friends) but I am coming to the conclusion that in the case of my job it's not just me.
I'm not just being whiney, it really is that bad.
Sarah quit last Wednesday, Dottie put in her resignation on Friday, and Thad quit this morning when they tried to make him work on his day off because they were pissed at Darren for calling in sick on Saturday.
It's not just me.
They skip our lunches, our breaks, fuck with the time clock so that they get a better ratio of employee hours to product, they break the FDA regulations but our initials are on the files so if the shit hits the fan they can put the blame on us. I don't think I can take much more of this but I'm trying to stick it out. I don't even know how I'm going to afford Mina's school supplies right now but I'm clinging to this shitty job because I just don't have any better prospects. At least it's something.
(Hey Mags how much was your company offering for that Help Desk position? More than $8 an hour?)

Meet the Parents

I'm totally exhausted but I figured I should write something tonight since I didn't get around to it yesterday.

My weekend went great, or at least I think it did Mags might say otherwise, I didn't realize it at the time but I was PMSing all weekend and looking back I may have been just a tad bit bitchy.
I had a good time though and really didn't want to come home and have to deal with work and housecleaning and stuff again. He even made me breakfast and let me sleep in, Mina had lots to do which was a real change from any other boyfriend I've ever had. He even bought froofroo coffee just for me.
I really liked his parents, and his mom gave me all the dirt on him from infancy on up including all of his evil ex-girlfriends (honestly I don't know how he put up with some of them). He said he was pretty sure his mom liked me when she asked when I was coming back. very cool.
Saturday night we went up to Portland to pick up his friend scott at the airport and then we met his co-worker Jeff and his wife and son for mini golf in vancouver. Normally I'm not that big a fan of mini golf, I hate keeping score and taking turns, it always takes forever and Mina always gets restless. This time I had a great time though, we played cheater golf (no scores, no taking turns) and Mina was an angel compared to Jordan (their son), which is highly unusual. It's such a relief when I go somewhere and my kid isn't the one who keeps getting in trouble for once. I really liked Jeff and Kim (except that they are World of Warcraft junkies just like Mags, and were trying to get me sucked into it as well). No thanks. That's okay though because Jen, Chris, and I are plotting to get Mags into SecondLife and once he gets hooked he'll never be able to escape.
So all in all the weekend went well, I even managed to meet his evil sister and I'm prepared to handle her if she gets uppity. I no longer have any pity for drama queens, if she starts up around me she'll find out really quick how little patience I have for that kind of "pity me" attitude. I'm just wishing that there were more days in a weekend, because with all the work he was doing at his parents's house we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time together, it's probably just as well though since I'd just bore him to tears after a few hours. :)

Simple Ideas, Complex Procedures

So my dad gave me one of his crappy computers because I promised that if he would buy the parts I would build him a good one, also because he insisted that the hard drive bearings were going out.
Are there bearings in a hard drive? Maybe, but not likely. It works fine.

I took it home last weekend, wiped the drive, installed XP and a couple other useful programs, and took it out to Des. Her old computer had the hard drive go out in it, so she is getting this one as a loner. But, she wanted to get cable internet and dad's comp didn't have an ethernet card, so I ordered a USB-based ethernet connection (partly just because I wanted it) on newegg.com. It arrived yesterday.
I went over there to pop the hard drive from comp A into comp B to see if her old comp would work with the new drive. NO. The power supply was fucked. So I tore apart comp B for spare parts (let me tell you they don't make those compaqs easy to tear apart) put the hard drive back, threw in a few more Mb of RAM, the CD burner, and the ethernet card. Comp A is now running like a champ, and she can get her cable internet, and I get to keep the cute little ethernet connector.
After only two hours of struggle, we both came out on top and the POS Compaq is now happily ensconsed in the garbage can.

I live for this shit, destroying and rebuilding computers is my thing, I'm like fucking Frankenstein. It's hard work, but I'm always proud when I accomplish my task. It's very gratifying.

Twist of Fate

Why do these things happen to me?!

So, I was happily working my ass off today, the center was packed from opening until closing, we beat our daily at 4:00 and were still open for two more hours. I really did work my butt off.
So I was working my butt off and had just called a donor into the screening room when I realized that the guy talking to Kalie at the counter was very familiar. I squnched my eyes up at him, you know the way you do with someone you haven't seen in years but you almost sorta recognize them, and realized who he was. So i slammed the door behind my donor and got started screening, bitching the whole time about how my ex just walked in, the donor actually offered to go take him out in the parking lot and kick his ass, but I declined (although I did appreciate the offer and the fact that my donors like me enough to make an offer like that).
This is not just an ex I'm talking about, most of my exes I get along with just fine and have not problem with at all, this was Mina's dad.
The compulsive liar, cheating, deadbeat, piece of shit that was the sperm donor from which my darling child evolved. Thank god for my genetics destroying most of the evidence of his.
Anyway, he had recognized me as well. When I came back out of the screening room I had composed myself, said a polite hello, was asked how long I had worked there and if I liked the job, to which I responded politely. He was holding an application. He hasn't worked in 2 years, which is why I haven't received any child support in 2 years. Not that he cares since he has deluded himself into believing that she isn't his, because that way he doesn't have to feel guilty about never seeing her or helping to support her.
I'm a very controlled person, and a very forgiving person, but he makes me very very very angry, although I don't let it show and am generally very non-comittal about the whole situation. Why waste my time being angry about it? But to be face to face with him acting like his own daughter doesn't exist put me into an absolute rage, and I begged Patty for a break to get out of there for a minute.
Now I'm having to deal with some seriously mixed feelings. He got an interview. I am torn between being happy that he will have a job and I'll actually know where it is so that I could get some child support, and hating the idea of working in the same building as him. Despite my own distaste with Patty's management practices, she really likes me and listens to what I say. I could tell her that he's a compulsive liar, that I'm uncomfortable working with him, and that I can't work efficiently if I'm stressed about him, and she just wouldn't hire him. But I could really use the money that his being employed would bring in. Also, there's the matter of Mina, I've always held out hope that someday he would grow up and accept fatherhood and want to be part of her life, that we could get along enough for her to have a chance to know her dad, we were only 18 when I got pregnant. He's had a lot of time to grow up... I just wish he cared enough to even ask about her, or ask if he could see a picture of her, or meet her... anything. it probably won't happen. If we worked together though maybe at some point he'd realize that I'm not an evil bitch, that I don't give a shit about him or the money, I just want him to be involved with her. Money is nice, and it really helps, but I've lived without it for years now and I can live without it for much longer. The only reason he's been jumped for child support at all is because I was on state assistance for so long, I never would have cared enough to seek it on my own.

Anyway, it was quite a day, I'm still trying to deal with my jumble of thoughts on the matter.
I can't wait for the weekend though, I need to get away from work and town and spend some time not thinking about this kind of stuff.

Girl's Night Revisited

I know I'm a bit late and all, but my excuses are that none of you have posted much lately (with the exception of Tammi who is in rare form) and I've been working overtime and then some.
Girl's night went great and even though I brought boy he was welcomed with open arms, he even got his toenails painted with the rest of us. But I think he was a little weirded out by the whispering of "that's Mags!" between a few of you... it's okay, you can say it out loud.
Since he's got to help out his parents with some stuff this weekend he wasn't going to be able to come down, but he invited me to come up to his place and... meet his parents! AAAAHHHH!
Just kidding, i'm not that worried, really. Really.
I just hope his mom likes me, cuz her opinions are important to him... plus, she hated Athena so we already have something in common.
Anyway, I'll update everyone when I get back.

Los Campeones

My day off was actually a day off for once. I took mina out ot my dad's and had breakfast with them. I had time to hang out and talk computers and psychology with my dad then headed home. Following my usual schedule for days off I spent the next few hours cleaning house but didn't feel as stressed about it as usual so I gave up after a while, I'll finish the rest tomorrow. Maybe.
I had decided to go out for dinner, and as we all know this is not okay to do alone, so I invited Des and Ben to go with me. Mexican food is good. I will pay the price for it tomorrow *heehee*. I'll be locked in that tiny room with unsuspecting donors... they will flee before my stench!
Um, anyhow... so yeah, dinner was good. I just got home a bit ago and bonnie brought me some cake for dessert. I think I'll save it for another time though cuz I'm still pretty full.
That was about it, my day in a nutshell. The cool part though is that I don't have to be at work tomorrow until 2 pm, I get to sleep in! Halle-fuckin-lujah! I might finally be able to make up all the sleep I lost last weekend.

John Denver and Ray Charles

my musical choices for the evening.

I feel the need to post something because I know that I've been slacking again, but I feel like the only things in my life right now are work and my weekends of escapism with Mags and my friends. There is nothing else.. I worry about paying the bills, I wash the dishes, and now and then I actually do laundry and vaccuum (but that's pretty rare). What happened to the days when I had things happening in my daily life that were worth sharing with the world? Like Hell's Kitchen and my daughter the bodybuilder, and other such nonsense. I could write about work but honestly it's not worth the typing. I could write all sorts of stuff about Mags, but a.) it might fall under the Too Much Information act of 1997, b.) he might get a bit embarassed, and c.) you'd all get horribly bored by my need to explain to the world how much I enjoy seeing him and how twitchy I get waiting for the weekend.
I'm excited to get to go to des's on saturday, I haven't seen much of her or tammi in the past few months, I've seen a little more of Jen but that's mostly because she's my babysitter. I really miss them, you don't get the same sort of conversation flow on the phone as you do sitting in Shari's drinking gallons of coffee and munching through piles of cheese fries (you know, the good ones with the bacon crumbles and green onions).

Good and bad things have happened on the homefront this week, today was my sister's birthday. I called her last night to discover she was nearly in tears because of some pretty harsh shit some other people laid at her feet, but I cheered her up by sharing the story of how my bruises came to be (from slamming head first into the porcelain goddess), and had her laughing so hard that she forgot to be sad. She was feeling much better today though, I think the insane laughter really did her some good. It usually does.
She really wants to meet Mags now, any guy who'd take care of me when I'm that drunk is a keeper according to her... but only if she okays him first. I'm cool with that, as long as she doesn't work her wily ways and try to steal him away. ;)

Work is dull, boring, blase, and very redundant. I'm keeping my eyes open for something else, but for now Madonna, the Quality Supervisor, has asked me if I'd like to be trained as her alternate. So if she's sick or has too much to do on her own I can hide out in the back office with her listening to Audioslave and eating chocolates out of the cookie jar on her desk. SWEET.
I'm not getting too excited about it though, there have been many offers of further training made in the past two months but none of them have gone through yet. Connie offered to train me in phlebotomy, Madonna wanted to get a Quality team together with me as one of the members, but none of it has happened because none of the management team can get their shit together enough to just handle the day-to-day flow of donors let alone plan for extra training for any of us. I just don't want to be stuck as an $8 an hour donor processor peon for the rest of my god-given life.
Anyway tomorrow is my day off and I have to take Mina out to my Dad's place and clean house, maybe something exciting will happen though that'll be worth posting about.

Until then.

CoffeeHouser is leaving

bummer, she's leaving the technological world for backwoods vermont to visit her family, I'm gonna be so lonely. The rest of you had better post more frequently to make up for her loss or I'm gonna go nuts.
Luckily it's only until the 18th... but I'm still sad.

He Spilled the Beans

No fair, Mags has already beaten me to posting about the fact that my vow has been broken. Still it was one year to the day since the last time.
Anyway, I had a fun if painful weekend.
I started out getting so drunk that I actually got sick, the last time that happened was my twenty first birthday. Then I let the man haul me back to the tent, feed me crackers, undress me, and get me into bed. It was all part of my evil plan; once he got me in bed I didn't let him leave.
Sunday morning I woke up to Mina squawking about there being a bug on her backpack. Mags got up and dealt with it. Then she got hungry so I got up. Mina and I went down by the creek to walk around and dip our feet. And thanks to her I fell in.
She lost her shoe and I tried to wade in and get it a little way downstream, but I slipped and went in fully clothed (ankle-length satin dress, bodice, and all). It was warm, and actually rather nice. But a bit embarassing walking back to camp like that, not that I hadn't been adequately embarassed the night before with a cheering squad outside the bathroom waiting for me.
As if that wasn't bad enough you can add to the bruises from the creek and the porcelain goddess, the fact that I'm a bit out of shape in the bedroom as well. Every inch of my body hurts today, inside and out. I'm just out of practice though, a few more nights like that and I'll be just fine. But for now I'm hobbling around like an overworked cowgirl. *grin*

Too Tired to Think

Too tired to write.

You'll just have to wait to hear about my weekend.

... Till Tomorrow.

Night-Night.

I'm Having Trouble Tonight

It will be one year on Sunday since I've had sex.

That's a long time to go without.

I'm feeling it... badly.

I'm so ready to just scrap my resolution and go for it. I hate this.
At first the resolution was my choice, I decided that since I wasn't and didn't plan on seeing anybody anytime soon then it would be a resolution that I'd actually be able to keep for once.
And Bonnie did have a point when she said that I didn't want to meet up with someone who was only interested in getting laid. But what if I was interested in getting laid, then what?
Then after a while it became the running joke, nobody thought I could do it, they thought I'd cave at the first opportunity. At that point my stubborn streak kicked in, as is known to happen in Tauruses. If they said it couldn't be done then by god I'd do it.
So far I've made it through the 6 month hump, during which anything with a pulse became attractive and I'm into the home stretch. But now I'm at the one year hump, and I have a willing accomplice. I'm really torn on whether my desire to finish out the year is due to my own innate stubbornness at this point or if it's because I really want to do it. I do want to, to prove everyone wrong, and to show that I can be involved with someone without having to "give the milk away", but at the same time it's been sheer torture.
Especially tonight. Suffice it to say I am in desperate need of some intervention.

Interesting

Today has been interesting to say the least.

It was my day off, so I spent it watching other people's kids, although I did get a couple of hard lemonades out of the deal which was kinda nice.
I took a long hot relaxing bath, and did a little reading, and I'm actually feeling refreshed and prepared for work tomorrow.
I finished Harry Potter. When I was done crying and had mopped up my face I took a moment to call Mags and bitch about the ending. I'm mad, he shouldn't have died, he is needed for the next book! We exchanged theories on what we thought was going on in it, sadly all of the theories are plausible and we just have to wait for the next book to find out who was right.
All in all it was a good book and for anybody who hasn't picked up the Harry Potter books yet, DO IT! They are great.

Anyway, I need to head off to bed soon since it's getting late and I have a hard day of work ahead of me. Night.

Blogger Really Pissed Me Off

Last night I wrote a great little post about how crappy my day was and how I was starting to wonder if I was going bipolar or something and when I clicked to publish it the only thing that came out was the title.
Damn. Anyway, I really am starting to wonder about the bipolar thing except I can't decide if it's me that's flipping back and forth daily or just that my life sucks every other day. I hope it's just my life, because it's not really like me to be that moody... really.
So today went really well, I left work early cuz it was so dead, I am almost finished with Harry Potter, I went down to Healthy start today to pick my research that I had left with Deb and caught them all as they were headed to the park for a little break. We sat and talked for a bit before I had to go and I was happy to hear that despite all the budget cuts they are all still holding up and keeping a stiff upper lip.
I picked up Mina who is still (luckily) not showing signs of having contracted mono from Kiesha, and came home to make dinner and make her some garb for the weekend. ( Did I mention that Mags asked if we'd like to join him for the event he's going to this weekend?) Since we are going to an event I figured that she should at least try to dress the part, so I dragged out the sewing machine (that I have now used twice in the past year) and whipped up a dress. It ain't great, but it'll do. I also got out my garb only to discover that it smells all funky. I loaned it to some neighbors for Egils and it came back funky and wrinkled. So now I have to wash it all before Saturday. Not only that but it's all gotten too big. My bodice no longer tightly squeezes my tits up to my neck the way it's supposed to, they keep sliding back down. Crap. I didn't think of the fact that weight loss meant restocking all of my garb. That bodice was $50! Oh well, I'll just have to suffer for now, but by next summer I plan on having a new and improved wardrobe for eventing.
